01. SHANI CROWE
Known for designing the iconic braided halo that Solange wore on Saturday Night Live and at the 2018 Met Gala.

Crowe’s creations extend far beyond hair. The sculptor, photographer and hair architect uses her unique aesthetic for visual storytelling. Her art comes naturally to her. “My dad is a painter, illustrator and photographer, and my brother was a graffiti artist,” she explains. “So I grew up around creativity.”

02. KAHH SPENCE
Known for styling big stage moments with Ella Mai, Kehlani, Kelly Rowland, Doja Cat.

Spence credits his mother for his love of hair. “In high school, if friends wanted their hair done, my mom would have them sit between her legs and she’d braid them down—and then I would install their weaves,” he says. These days, he spends his time styling some of the biggest names in music and growing his brand, Kahh Spence Beauty. “I didn’t dream of this as a kid,” he says. “So it’s pretty cool, knowing I’m influencing styles and trends. I’m now expanding past hair and am working on fragrances. I want to be a really big authority in the beauty space.”

03. KENDALL DORSEY
Known for his A-list celebrity clientele, including Teyana Taylor, Alicia Keys, Yara Shahidi, Lizzo and Nicki Minaj, to name a few.

“I trained for years before styling my first celebrity,” Dorsey recalls. “When I worked with Teyana Taylor for the first time, it was so surreal.” But one thing that never needs a reality check is Dorsey’s passion for styling. “Church is where I discovered my love for hair,” he says. “That’s where I started understanding what it looked like for a woman to look and feel her best. Now I work with very powerful and confident women, so it’s only right that their hair reflects that.”
